access to the opportunities they need to succeed in health, education and life.

At The Figgers Foundation, we believe that in order to achieve ourmission, we must:
Fight for equitable opportunities, empowering and inspiring every child and adult to reach his or her full potential.
Operate with the swiftness of a small, aligned, and powerful team that is unafraid to tackle big issues.
Approach challenges differently and discover creative solutions that drive change.
Openly share our purpose and rally the community to help shape the future.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Safety Net for Miami – Dade
The Figgers Foundation coordinates grassroots initiatives designed to address the digital divide within specific
communities. This strategy entails working closely with community leaders to facilitate outreach, collaborating with
internet service providers to ensure reliable broadband access, and partnering with consumer electronics
companies to provide affordable smartphones and tablets.
Program Features
The Figgers Foundation takes great pride in the successful execution of this program, which aimed to address
the prevailing disparity in access to modern information and communication technologies (ICTs) among
vulnerable populations during the ongoing resurgence of pandemics in our contemporary world.
Background
In December 2021, the United States experienced a substantial resurgence of COVID-19, driven by
the Omicron variant. Data from the CDC pinpointed Miami as a significant hotspot, particularly
endangering elderly individuals who lacked internet access or convenient telehealth services. In
response to this challenge, the "Safety Net" initiative was launched to provide vulnerable elderly
residents of District 9 with mobile phones equipped with infrared thermometers and free internet,
including telehealth access.
Program Execution
The Figgers Foundation coordinated with the Office of the Miami-Dade Commissioner District -9, to help deliver
and educate the senior citizens on this initiative. To ensure the best coverage for the Senior citizens, the
Commissioner’s Office, setup different venues on key locations at times most suitable for the public to come
and get their phones.
The Figgers Foundation further ensured that the Call Center and Technical Support are available for the senior
citizens before the rollout of the program. In fact there have been tens of support calls answered by the
technical support to help senior citizen better understand the offer and use their phones. The phones are
comprehensively covered by the provider and assisted online 24 x 7.
Complimentary Smartphone equipped with a
Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer.
Free built-in wireless hotspot functionality.
One year of access to a Telehealth platform.
One year of unlimited talk and text services.
This initiative extended its support to the elderly residents (aged
55 and above) of Miami-Dade County by providing them with
health-focused smartphones and cellular health data services,
all at no cost. The comprehensive package included:

Supporting Children’s
Opportunity Group of Broward
In January 2022, The Figgers Foundation proudly joined forces with the Children Opportunity Group of Broward in
their mission to raise funds for underprivileged children. The cornerstone of this fundraising effort is their annual
luncheon, which serves as the primary source of financial support to benefit the youngest residents of Broward.
The organization's core mission is to unite women who are committed to enhancing the well-being, education, and
overall welfare of disadvantaged children in Broward County.
The first of these initiatives centers on the improvement of road and utility structures within Gadsden County. This
effort aims to enhance transportation and utilities, ultimately benefiting the local community by fostering better
connectivity and services for both residents and businesses.
In March 2022, The Figgers Foundation, led by board chair Freddie Figgers, played a pivotal role in securing a
remarkable $8.9 million investment from the state of Florida. This substantial funding is earmarked to revitalize
infrastructure and drive economic development projects throughout Gadsden County, promising transformative
changes through various key initiatives
Another critical facet of this investment is the revitalization of an existing senior citizens building or the construction
of a new facility. This building is envisioned to become a central hub for senior residents, potentially serving as a
community center offering essential facilities and services.
Securing Infrastructure Development Funding
For Gadsden County
In April 2022, The Figgers Foundation's
Secretary and Treasurer, Attorney Natlie G.
Figgers, personally spearheaded the effort to
secure the release of an innocent individual who
had been incarcerated for three decades.
Thomas Raynard James has now regained his
freedom, having endured over 30 years of
imprisonment for a murder he did not commit.
Ms. Natlie, both as a representative of The Figgers
Foundation and in her professional capacity,
devoted an impressive 2,000 pro bono hours to this
cause. She also established a website to gather
support and evidence, organized and facilitated
public outreach efforts, all with the goal of proving
the innocence of Thomas Raynard James. His
wrongful imprisonment in Florida stemmed from
misidentification and flawed police work.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, in
collaboration with Ms. Figgers, conducted an
investigation that not only revealed the presence
of reasonable doubt in the conviction but also
established that "Thomas Raynard James is, in
fact, innocent of the charges."
To summarize, the mistaken identification of the
defendant, Thomas Raynard James, occurred due
to what seemed to be a coincidental similarity in
name with a suspect referred to by witnesses and
anonymous tipsters as 'Thomas James' or 'Tommy
James.' This misidentification led to his wrongful
association as the assailant responsible for the
fatal shooting of Francis McKinnon. Prosecutors, in
their court filings seeking to overturn the
conviction, emphasized this critical point.

Helping
Rebuild Lives
On the day of his release, Mr. James, aged 55, still in handcuffs and dressed in a red prison uniform, stood alongside his
mother and prosecutors during a news conference. Although he didn't speak, Ms. Figgers mentioned that he was
enthusiastic about commencing his new life and aspired to establish a nonprofit organization to aid others who had
suffered wrongful convictions.
"He always held onto hope that one day someone would recognize the truth and the facts and would come to his
defense," Ms. Figgers stated. "Today, he's grateful that people heeded his pleas, and he's simply thankful for the
opportunity to rebuild his life."
Bridging the Disparity
In Aviation Diversity
In August 2022 The Figgers Foundation, aware that less than 2% of commercial airline pilots are Black, as reported
by ZIPPIA, made a generous donation of $50,000 to support the aviation program at Florida Memorial University, a
small historically Black institution located in Miami Gardens.
Freddie Figgers, serving as the board chair, expressed during the donation ceremony, "Upon discovering the
exceptional quality of the aviation program at Florida Memorial, The Figgers Foundation recognized the importance
of extending our support. I recognize that the journey to becoming a pilot is demanding, carries a significant
financial burden, and we, as a community, have a responsibility to alter the statistics and provide our young
individuals with the opportunity to achieve greatness."

Empowering Educational Initiatives
Across African Schools
In August 2022, The Figgers Foundation renewed its commitment to its partnership with Golden Aya, furthering their
mission to bolster educational initiatives by offering both material and financial support to communities in Africa.
Additionally, The Figgers Foundation contributed smartphones equipped with internet access and built-in hotspots
to aid students in Arusha, Tanzania. The primary goal is to introduce students to STEM-based learning applications,
fostering the development of their technological skills.
Financial Support to
Presentation Brothers College,
Grenada
In September 2022, The Figgers Foundation team engaged with officials from the Ministry of Education, Youth,
Sports & Culture in Grenada and conducted visits to various educational institutions. Acknowledging the pressing
need for assistance, The Figgers Foundation made a generous financial donation of $20,000 to support the school
continuous operation, and computer Stem center to the Presentation Brothers College, a Roman Catholic secondary
school for boys located in St. George's, Grenada.
During this interaction, the board chair, Freddie Figgers, affirmed The Figgers Foundation's ongoing commitment,
stating, "We had an incredible experience connecting with the bright young minds who are shaping tomorrow's
future at Presentation Brothers College. At The Figgers Foundation, we are deeply honored to support Presentation
Brothers College as an investment in the aspiring minds of tomorrow

Empowering Dreams
Freddie Figgers' Scholarship Program at Florida Memorial University is a remarkable initiative that provides
deserving students with the opportunity to pursue higher education. This program, established by tech
entrepreneur Freddie Figgers, offers financial support to students at Florida Memorial University, making
education more accessible and affordable.
By awarding scholarships, Freddie Figgers aims to empower young minds, inspire academic excellence, and open
doors to a brighter future. This program not only eases the financial burden on students but also encourages them
to reach their full potential and achieve their educational goals.
Freddie Figgers' commitment to education and philanthropy has made a significant impact on the lives of many
aspiring students, creating a pathway for them to excel academically and contribute positively to their
communities. His scholarship program exemplifies the importance of giving back and investing in the next
generation of leaders.
Student Scholarship
Grants
In September 2022, The Figgers Foundation took great pride in participating in the warm welcome extended to the
incoming class of 2026 at Florida Memorial University and witnessing their official induction into the FMU community.
During a special ceremony, substantial scholarship awards were granted to these promising future leaders.
The "Elevating Minds, Transforming Lives" Convocation Ceremony, held at the FMU Wellness Center, featured a
motivational keynote address delivered by our founder, Freddie Figgers, which resonated with over 600 freshmen.
Notably, this marked the university's largest incoming class in 15 years. Subsequently, The Figgers Foundation
team had the opportunity to meet with students, providing motivation and inspiration, and continued the
engagement during a celebratory lunch held at the Marketplace Dining Hall
The Figgers Foundation's Lifesaving Impact
Saving Lives, Inspiring Hope
In a powerful display of compassion, the Freddie Figgers Foundation recently stepped in to save an individual facing a
life-threatening medical crisis. A courageous woman found herself battling a severe, life-threatening condition, requiring
urgent surgery at Broward Health. However, the financial burden was insurmountable, and her future appeared uncertain.
In this critical moment, the Freddie Figgers Foundation provided vital financial support to cover the life-saving surgery's
expenses. Their unwavering commitment to changing lives shone brilliantly in this instance.
The surgery, performed successfully at Broward Health, has set the individual on the path to recovery, all thanks to the
Freddie Figgers Foundation's generosity.
This heartwarming story exemplifies the Foundation's dedication to making a difference, not only through technology and
education but also through compassionate action in times of need.
Compassion in Action: Saving Lives and Inspiring Hope - The Freddie Figgers Foundation Way.
In the face of adversity, the Figgers Foundation extended a helping hand to families affected by the fury of Hurricane
Ian in Fort Myers and Naples. The foundation's unwavering commitment to making a positive impact was
demonstrated through their invaluable in-kind support during this crisis.
As Hurricane Ian wreaked havoc, families were left grappling with the aftermath of the disaster. The Figgers
Foundation stepped in, providing essential aid, support, and relief to those in need. Whether it was shelter, food,
clothing, or medical assistance, their timely and compassionate response proved to be a ray of hope during a
challenging time.
This act of kindness exemplifies the foundation's dedication to serving communities in their moments of need,
reflecting their mission to bring about positive change and inspire hope in the face of adversity.
The Figgers Foundation's outreach during Hurricane Ian serves as a poignant reminder that together, even in the
darkest hours, we can make a difference, support one another, and rebuild our communities stronger than before.
