April 18, 2026 — Miramar, Florida — The Figgers Foundation brought its commitment to bridging the digital divide to Broward County Regional Park in Miramar, distributing 200 tablets to community members as part of its ongoing Florida Connect Program.

The community event brought together families, children, seniors, and local residents in a diverse South Florida community. Miramar is home to more than 142,000 residents, with approximately 22% under the age of 18 and 13% age 65 and older. The city is also highly diverse, with more than 42% of residents born outside the United States and 51% of residents speaking a language other than English at home.

Against this backdrop, access to technology can play an important role in helping residents stay connected to education, employment, healthcare, family, and essential online resources. During the event, the Figgers Foundation team connected directly with attendees, answering questions, assisting families, and placing 200 tablets into the hands of people who can use technology to create new opportunities.
